Junkstar, No junk at all
40Junkstar @ The Monarch in Camden, London
15th of October 2009
Location: very cool and cozy, nice bar with a little stage.
Performance: Very cool. Junkstar is one of those bands which is a little weird, but very taste. It’s front man has his own thing going on. Something which definitely stands out and he is so into it that he’ll drag you along in his enthusiasm.
Then there was this tiny girl (well, at least compared to me, but that might be my fault, being 6’2) called Anna who reminds me of a Finnish girl due to her looks and innocence. One of these girls who seems adorable and sweet, but deep down can be pretty naughty.
But the whole band is great, they have energy, a great performance and style. The songs are poppy and catchy which some great guitar and drums in there to give them some edge. Their new song which is called Bluebottles is a fun song which you’ll want to play many times.
Junkstar is a great band with loads of potential which I’ll look forward to hear more from.

I saw this show too. Junkstar put me in mind of 80's bands such as Adam and the Ants but with an urban or 'modern' edge. Great layers of sound.
